As community land trusts and other shared equity homeownership programs look for ways to expand their portfolios in a challenging funding environment, modular housing is generating interest. But what does it actually take to develop a modular project, and how can modular housing fit within a program’s real estate development strategy? 

In our August Member Call, we’ll be joined by representatives from Module and Durham Community Land Trustees to introduce modular housing development and its potential applications for shared equity programs. We’ll also share lessons from Alma Street Commons, a modular housing development that is creating permanently affordable homeownership opportunities in Durham, North Carolina. 

As part of a grant-supported initiative to share knowledge and best practices, attendees will receive access to a new Modular 101 for CLTs toolkit designed to help practitioners navigate the fundamentals of modular housing development.
