Course DescriptionHave you been wondering what makes community land trust (CLT) homeownership different from other affordable housing models? How are CLTs structured and governed? Where did the CLT model come from? How can you best communicate about CLTs to partners and allies? Come learn the answers to these questions and more! This course offers an introduction to the nuts and bolts of the CLT model, with a focus on CLTs providing permanently affordable homeownership opportunities. After taking this course, you will be able to identify the ownership, organizational, and operational elements that make a CLT unique; debunk common myths about the CLT model; and demonstrate a basic understanding of subsidy retention, resale formulas, ground leases, and stewardship. Course Format & MaterialsThis is a live online course that meets for six hours total over two days. Our course sessions will take place from 12:30-3:30pm ET on Tuesday, September 15th and Wednesday, September 16th.
