Are you trying to understand why units in your portfolio are losing (or gaining) affordability at resale? Do you want to improve your understanding of your resale formula in order to communicate more clearly with homeowners, partners, or other stakeholders? Register for this course to learn about affordable pricing methodologies and resale formula options, which work hand-in-hand to ensure that shared equity homes are truly affordable for generations. This course will offer hands-on exercises to help participants understand the importance of the thoughtful affordable pricing policy and the pros and cons of common resale formula types.
After taking this course, you will be able to identify key considerations for setting an initial affordable price; identify the pros and cons of the three main resale formula types; and articulate the basic steps for modeling and selecting a resale formula based on your program's goals. Course Format & MaterialsThis is a live online course that meets for six hours total over two days. Our course sessions will take place from 12:30-3:30pm ET on Monday, November 16th and Wednesday, November 18th, 2026.

Suggested AudienceThis is an intermediate-level course best for individuals who are implementing or actively designing a shared equity homeownership program. An understanding of subsidy retention (or shared equity homeownership) and basic lending principles is essential for success in this course. CertificationEach participant who scores 80% of higher on the 10-question quiz following the course will earn a certificate of completion.
